I was planning on a post after I got back from the Devils Fan Fest in downtown Albany, but a few items popped up that I had to pass along before then…so here we go:
-Every Devil that was put on waivers yesterday cleared. Mark Fraser and Rod Pelley will stay with the big club for the time being, while Matt Corrente, Peter Harrold, Jay Leach, Stephane Veilleux, Vladimir Zharkov, and Tim Sestito are heading north to Albany. New Jersey is still 2 players over the 23 man limit and has till tomorrow afternoon to make that final decision. There’s a good chance that at least one Albany regular from last year–Adam Henrique or Brad Mills–have made the opening day roster.
-New Jersey announced an affiliation agreement with the Kalamazoo Wings in the ECHL, answering the question of where those cut from Albany will be going. The K-Wings also have an agreement in place with Vancouver.
-Jared from Hockey’s Future has his Albany season preview up.
-Speaking of season previews…our friends at Chirps From Center Ice is running a week long preview series on every AHL team. You’ll just have to wait till Thursday to see what I contributed to it.
