Happy AHL Opening Day!
While 10 teams begin the Calder Cup quest tonight (including 1 looking for a repeat), I sit and wait for the next 25 hours to pass before Albany’s quest can begin. But first, a few updates from the past couple of days:
-I enjoyed my time at Fan Fest on Tuesday night. I did get to speak with a few new members of the team and some old friends from last year. Everyone’s excited and optimistic about the roster and how they’ll fare this year.
-Wednesday the team announced that 38 games (nearly all road and select home games) will be on 104.5 WTMM in Albany. Of course your best bet will always be AHL Live. If the video feed chooses to work, that is.
-Earlier today the Devils assigned their first players to Kalamazoo, G Maxime Clermont and F Bryan Haczyk. That puts the current roster at 27 players (2 G, 15 F, 10 D) going into tomorrow night.
Look for the first game preview (with a somewhat new setup) after 4:00 tomorrow (all previews will be out 3 hours before game time, for those new to the blog). It is officially go time.
