Devils Quick Hits:
-Albany begins the week with a record of 11-8-1-4 and 27 points. They are in a 3 way tie in the Northeast Division with Hartford and Bridgeport, and 4 points behind second place Syracuse.
-A few roster changes heading into the week. Yes there will be a pop quiz on this later.
On Tuesday, another goaltending flip, as Keith Kinkaid was recalled and Scott Clemmensen was sent down. Kinkaid finally received his first NHL start on Tuesday night in Newark against Chicago, and played well, stopping 37 shots. But it was an all too familiar result: a 3-2 shootout loss.
Also on Tuesday, Reid Boucher was recalled for the second time after Patrik Elias was placed on IR. He played on the second line Tuesday night with Adam Henrique and Michael Ryder. He was returned to Albany on Wednesday with Mike Cammalleri and Dainius Zubrus presumably ready to return to the lineup Thursday night as the parent Devils start a road swing in Philadelphia.
With Scott Timmins and Cam Janssen out injured, Myles Bell and Alexandre Carrier have been recalled from their respective ECHL teams.
And if you were hoping for a glimpse of Damien Brunner in an A-Devil uniform, well, you’ll be disappointed. Earlier today New Jersey placed him on unconditional waivers.
