The Weekly Primer, Issue 28

Quick Hits:

-The Devils start the final week of the regular season with a 43-20-8-2 record, 96 points and a .658 points percentage.  They have clinched second place in the North Division, 14 points behind first place Toronto and 12 points ahead of third place Utica.

-We may not know who Albany’s first round opponent will be until Sunday evening at the latest.  Currently Bridgeport sits in the first round opponent seat, having crossed over as the fifth place Atlantic team due to having a higher points percentage than North fourth place Syracuse, who as of Saturday is out of the running.  Bridgeport also has a higher percentage (as of today .582) over North third place Utica (.575).  Also in consideration: Hartford is barely hanging on at .555, a late run by the Wolfpack could also put them in the A5 spot.  Portland, who clinched a spot Sunday afternoon, sits at .596, and a last week slide could also send them back to 5th.  But no matter the opponent, the Devils will have home ice advantage in the first round.
