Originally scheduled for 4 PM NST (2:30 EST), the game was moved to a later time due to an impending snowstorm in the St. John’s area; the IceCaps are halfway through a 8 game homestand, where so far they are 1-3; for the first time in team history, a set of brothers are on the roster, Michael and John McCarron, the latter signed to a PTO on January 5th; rookie goaltender Charlie Lindgren and defenseman Mark Barberio, currently up with Montreal, are the IceCap All Star representatives; Joe Blandisi (upper) and John Quenneville (illness) are both expected to return to the lineup at some point during the two game set; after representing Manchester at the ECHL All Star Game, defenseman Justin Agosta received his second PTO in a week; Vojtech Mozik was named as a replacement for Barberio for the AHL All Star Classic on Friday.
